Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival and Birding tour in Mabamba swamp

Upon arrival at the Entebbe International Airport, you will transfer to Mabamba Swamp for a birding tour. The Island is famous for being home to the rare shoebill stork. The boat will take you to Lutembe Bay for more bird views. Lunch will be along the way. You will then transfer to your lodge in Kampala. Upon arrival, check in to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park via Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary

After breakfast, check out of the lodge and embark on the drive to Murchison Falls National Park. You will stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for a rhino tour. Lunch will be in Masindi town. Continue to the park for dinner and an overnight stay at your lodge.

Day 3: Morning game drive and Afternoon boat cruise

After breakfast, you will go for a morning game drive in Murchison Falls National Park. The park is home to the Big 4 animals namely; lion, leopard, elephant, and buffalo. The park is also a reliable birding destination. You will return to your lodge for lunch.

In the afternoon, you will go for an amazing boat cruise on the River Nile. You will encounter several water species like crocodiles and hippos. The boat will take you to the bottom of the falls. From here, you will hike to the top of the world’s strongest waterfalls. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Transfer to Kibale National Park

Once you are done with breakfast, you will check out of the lodge and embark on the drive to Kibale National Park – The Primate Capital of the World. You will have a lunch stopover and continue to the park. Upon arrival, check in to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Chimpanzee tracking and Bigodi wetland tour

On the 5th day of your 15 days grand Uganda safari, you will start with an amazing breakfast. This will be followed by a transfer to the park headquarters for briefing. Upon meeting the chimps, you will be allowed to spend one precious hour before returning to your lodge for lunch.

In the afternoon, you will go for a walk in the Bigodi wetland. The area is a perfect birding spot and a reliable place for amazing community tours. In the evening, you will return to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 6: Amabere caves and transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

After breakfast, you will check out of the lodge and embark on the drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park. You will pass by the Amabere Ga Nyina Mwiru caves and hike to the top of the world. Lunch will be en route. Upon arrival, check in to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 7: Morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise on Kazinga Channel 

After breakfast, you will go for a game drive in the Kasenyi sector. You will see elephants, buffaloes, kobs, antelopes, leopards, and many other wildlife species. Return to your lodge for lunch.

In the afternoon, you will go for a boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel. The channel is a good birding area and many animals converge here, especially during the dry seasons. You will return in the later hours of the day for dinner and overnight.

Day 8: Morning game drive and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Start your day with a delicious meal and check out of the lodge. You will go for a game drive in the Ishasha sector to see tree-climbing lions. You will continue with an en-route lunch to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Upon arrival, check in to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 9: Mountain gorilla trekking and Batwa community tour

This day is one of the highlights of your 15 days grand Uganda safari. After breakfast, report to the park headquarters for a briefing. You will embark on the amazing mountain gorilla trekking in Bwindi’s Impenetrable forest. Once you meet the gorillas, you will spend one hour in their presence before you return to your lodge for lunch.

In the afternoon, you will go for a community tour in the neighboring Batwa Villages. You will taste local beer and participate in numerous local activities. Return to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay

Day 10: Lake Bunyonyi Tour

A day at Uganda’s deepest lake is a day in paradise. After breakfast, check out of the lodge and drive to Lake Bunyonyi. The day is yours to explore this lake of many birds as well as visit the local communities and the 29 islands. Lunch will be along the way. In the evening, you will check in to your lodge for dinner and spend the night.

Day 11: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park

After breakfast, check out of the lodge and drive to Lake Mburo National Park. You will tour the Igongo Cultural Center in Mbarara and hike to the Eclipse Monument. Lunch will be along the way. Upon arrival, check in to your lodge and spend the evening at leisure. Dinner and an overnight stay at your lodge.

Day 12: Morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise on Lake Mburo

After breakfast, head out for a morning game drive. The park is home to many animals including leopards, giraffes, zebras, kobs, antelopes, buffaloes, and many more. Return to the lodge for lunch and relaxation.

In the afternoon, you will go on a boat cruise on Lake Mburo. Interact with the locals as well as enjoy views of water birds, crocodiles, fish, and hippos. Return to your lodge for dinner and spend the night.

Day 13: Transfer to Jinja

After a relaxed breakfast, you will check out and embark on the drive to Jinja. You will make a stopover at the Uganda Equator and take pictures at the center of the earth. Lunch will be along the way. Once you arrive, check in to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 14: Tour the source of the Nile

On the 14th day of your 15 days Uganda grand safari, you will explore the source of the world’s longest river – the River Nile. You will participate in many activities including bungee jumping, zip lining, white water rafting, quad biking, nature walks, swimming, and many more. You will also visit the Ssezibwa Falls for an amazing experience. Return to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
