5 Days Gorillas and Golden Monkey Trek

Welcome to the amazing 5 Days Gorillas and Golden Monkey Trek! This safari will take you through Uganda’s popular safari destinations for primates. Mountain gorilla trekking and golden monkey trekking tours can be done in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and Mgahinga Gorilla National Park.

The safari will start and end in Kampala or Entebbe International Airport.  Below is the detailed 5 Days Gorillas and Golden Monkey Trek safari itinerary.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Upon arrival at the Entebbe International Airport, you will meet our tour guide. He or she will brief you about the 5 Days Gorillas and Golden Monkey Trek safari. You will embark on the drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. You will stop at the Uganda equator for an amazing moment. Lunch will be along the way. Upon arrival, check in to your booked lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Meals: Lunch and Dinner

 

Day 2: Mountain Gorilla trekking and Batwa Community tour

After breakfast, you will go to the park headquarters for a briefing. You will start your gorilla trekking session. Upon meeting the gorilla family, you will spend one hour in their presence. Return to your lodge for relaxation and lunch.

In the afternoon, you will visit the Batwa communities for an amazing Uganda cultural tour. Return to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 3: Golden Monkey trekking in Mgahinga Gorilla National Park

Wake up early, have your morning breakfast and transfer to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. After briefing at the Park headquarters, you will take on an amazing golden monkey trekking tour. Once you meet the monkeys, you will spend one precious hour in their presence. The park is home to many bird species and other animals. In the afternoon, you will head to Lake Bunyonyi with an en-route lunch. Upon arrival, check in to your lodge for dinner and breakfast.

Day 4:  Explore Lake Bunyonyi

Lake Bunyonyi is Uganda’s deepest lake and is home to many bird species. After breakfast, you will visit the 29 islands including the Punishment Island (Akempene Island). You will also interact with the local members of the communities. Lunch and dinner will be at your lodge.

Day 5: Transfer to Kampala – Departure

After breakfast, check out of the lodge and embark on the drive to Kampala. Lunch will be en route. The driver guide will drop you at a hotel in Kampala or Entebbe International Airport for an outbound flight. This marks the climax of your 5 Days Gorillas and Golden Monkey Trek safari.
